BALL MILL WORKING PRINCIPLE
Ball mill is mainly composed of a cylindrical drum rotating around a shaft. It is driven by a transmission system (consisting of a motor, reducer, electronic cabinet, and driving gear) set behind or under the main body. Inside the drum, there are one to three grinding chambers. Each chamber is inlaid with wear-resistant lining plates and filled with various-sized grinding balls or rods which are usually made of steel, rubber, ceramic or other materials.
After raw materials enter the ball mill, they are fed into the grinding chamber and lifted together with grinding media by the rotating drum. Under the action of gravity, they drop down and produce a certain impact and friction with each other. In this way, large-sized material particles are ground into fine-sized. To some extent, the liner assists in the milling of materials. We commonly choose different types of lining plates in different grinding chambers.
